Wetlands Project
The
old Coleraine water storage dam at the northern end of the Arboretum
was redeveloped into a wetland of considerable significance in 2002.
All development with the exception of initial excavation was undertaken by Green Corps participants. This work included fencing (1800 metres) and new planting (3400 plants).
This project has considerably enhanced urban biodiversity through increased animal and birdlife, as well as adding to the educational resources the Arboretum offers.
